A Central Florida native, James received his Bachelor’s degree from Purdue University with a focus on sales management and entrepreneurship. Prior to his work in commercial real estate, James served as a marketing consultant in Nanjing, China before landing in New York City. While there, James worked in a business to business capacity for Ingersoll Rand helping to coordinate new construction projects coming up in the city, while also starting his own marketing and small business consultation firm.
After leaving a mark on Manhattan, James set his sights on Tampa Bay, where he embarked on his real estate journey with Marcus & Millichap. At Marcus & Millichap, James is dedicated to helping investors and principals in the disposition and acquisition of commercial retail properties. In partnership with James Medefind, James Garner has been an integral part of building Medefind Retail of Marcus & Millichap. Based in Tampa, Florida, Medefind Retail is a group of multi-tenant and single-tenant retail specialists who focus their attention on assets in the Southeastern United States. previously held a variety of prestigious executive positions operating hotels, resorts,
casinos and restaurants, Mr. Shiebler joined the Tampa office in March of 2016. Mr. Shiebler transitioned to commercial real estate investment sales to leverage his
comprehensive understanding of retail properties. As a former restaurant owner and
operator, he brings unique perspective to his work on behalf of investors.
He experienced immense success as an operator and also as an instructor at several of the nation’s finest culinary academic institutions and fully appreciates the rewards and challenges business owners face on a daily basis. His food & beverage expertise and Southwest Florida market knowledge provide him with a unique skill set to advise clients to maximize their return on investment. These services include, but are not limited to, advisory, underwriting, valuation, sale and acquisition strategies for investors and developers. A graduate of Le Cordon Bleu California Culinary Academy in San Francisco, Jim is married, has two daughters and resides in Estero. Outside of work, Jim enjoys family time, traveling, sports and fitness.
